Cigars for Celebration – Arturo Fuente Opus X

01 Nov

Years ago when my military friends arrived safely back home we would celebrate by drinking whiskey and smoking cigars. I stopped smoking celebratory cigars years ago after my grandfather passed away from lung cancer. He was a heavy smoker back in his day and also worked in the coal mines, and a GM factory at final paint inspection for pickup trucks. One of my best friends was in town and wanted a cigar so I agreed since it’s been so many years, and lit one up. We didn’t just choose any, it’s always been Arturo Fuente Opus X brand cigars that we smoke and wow they are awesome! They are pricey from $15 up to $90 a cigar but well worth it if you want a great burning cigar. I highly recommend trying them out. We enjoyed them so much that we smoked again the next night he was in town, and today is his birthday, does this call for 3 nights in a row? We shall see.

Apple MacBook Pro
Apple MacBook Pro

The time has finally arrived and Apple has launched new Apple MacBook Pro’s!! We have all been waiting way to long for this new laptop!

Same anticipated updates, faster, more power, thinner, and lighter, brightest display ever, new touch bar, touchid to login quickly.

According to Apple the graphics are up to 130% faster The display is 67% brighter, and it’s 17% thinner.

I’m selling my iMac and Dell XPS laptop for a MacBook Pro 15″. As i write this post I use a MacBook Retina Early 2016 which I love.

Why am I upgrading? My iMac only has 1 TB storage and my Dell XPS 15 has 1 TB of storage. The MacBook Pro is now available with storage up to 2 TB. I use my iMace 75% of the time, and Im right around 1TB in use for all my apple documents, files, and work. This new system will allow me to use the MacBook Pro as my primary but allow me yo also windows in bootcamp allocating around 400 Gigs for a Windows Setup. This is ideal for my work and finally enough space to work with both operating systems with one computer.

The past couple days have been very informative at the OrlandoIX conference here in Orlando, Florida. The conference brings together game developers, graphics artists, 3D artists, programmers, and many other digital developers together. There are many helpful sessions for learning and discussing the industry. The conference was extremely helpful to me as I’ve been dabbling in learning 3D and animation. There were lots of developers creating games for the new virtual reality gear like Oculus, and HTC Vive. The coolest presentation and talk was from The Void and how they developed virtual reality experiences that are deployed outside of the home. They created the tech and the experience looks really amazing. The feedback k from people who have tried the experience in New York absolutely love it. I’m really looking forward to following the progress on this company.

Suzuki GSXR 1000R

18 Oct

While attending the OrlandoIX conference I decided to walk over to the AIMEXPO to check out some motorcycles.

This here is the new 2017 GSX-R1000R limited edition sport bike. This bike has been labelled as the “The King of Sportbikes” and boy it is a sexy machine! This is basically a track race bike tuned for the street, and your either a speed enthusiast, racer, or just plain nuts to want this rocket bike. It features a new aluminum frame, and engine has a unique variable valve timing system connected via Ride-By-Wire throttle for a huge power band delivery. I’ve always been a fan of F1, MotoGP, and speed.

However as much as I admire these bikes, I’m quite happy on my Trek road bike, because this thing is pure freaking danger. Maybe one day, for now I’ll be an admirer. The pricing has not been announced yet. You can gather all the details online here.

iPhone 7 Plus – Get one!

04 Oct

Yes I upgraded to the new Apple iPhone 7 Plus, and I love it! The usual yearly updates, faster processor, better camera, updated and improved iOS software. The biggest reason to upgrade is the dual camera on the 5.5 inch phone in my opinion. The dual camera system is a noticeable improvement and the photos are awesome. I’ll post several photos on here in raw format so you can see the results. It took a couple days to get adjusted to the larger 5.5″ screen size since I was using the smaller 4.7″ phones the past few years. I’m glad the headphone jack is gone and I look forward to the wireless ear buds later this month.
